
This course is aimed at all those who already practice hiking in the mountains, but for those who lack the technical knowledge to tackle mountaineering ascents that require the use of specific equipment to climb safely.
Learning Topics
- Familiarize yourself with all necessary climbing gear such as ATCs, GRIGRIs, ropes, carabiners, harnesses, slings, quick-draws, etc.
- Refamiliarization with basic knots such as the figure-8, clove hitch, and mountaineer's hitch
- Learn how to recognize and utilize rock anchors
- Stops on mobile and fixed anchors
- How to be roped together with your partner
- Learn to use the rope correctly in short rope progression on rocky terrain
- Rope Management: Learn to lead and manage the roped party based on the terrain and the surrounding environment
- Simultaneous climbing, as well as short and long pitch climbing
- Lowering (with one or two people)

Prerequisite Skills
No specific experience is required or for those who have already attended a basic mountaineering course: mountaineers capable of climbing confidently as a leader with boots on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th degree passages
