
Do you already practice multi-pitch climbing?
The objective is to learn how to best manage an itinerary of a classic route on adventure terrainfrom the construction of a belay on self-constructed anchors (using Friends, nuts, pegs), to the climbing of the roped party, and to the repelling on abandonment belay stations.
The goal is to teach all the basic rope maneuvers and the management of the climbers while on the wall, which reduces the risks of a possible accident during climbing.
Knowing all these topics will allow you to be safe, effective and quick when climbing.
Learning Topics
- Familiarize yourself with all necessary climbing gear such as ATCs, GRIGRIs, ropes, carabiners, harnesses, slings, quick-draws, etc.
- How to be roped together with your partner
- Refamiliarization with basic knots such as the figure-8, clove hitch, and mountaineer's hitch
- How to properly set-up your own belay stations using mobile protections such as Friends, and review the three forms of belay stations (free, semi-mobile, or fixed).
- Proper belaying techniques from a belay station
- Learn more-advanced techniques to most efficiently manage your rope and gear while a belay station.
- In the rare case of an emergency, how to retreat off the wall using a self-made belay station
- Proper repelling technique and set-up
