The Proposal
Winter is perhaps the most magical season to visit the mountains, but at the same time winter requires more planning, preparation and determination to be able to face the conditions in the best possible way.
To tackle our excursion we will use snowshoes, also called ciaspole, tools created to allow us to "float" on the soft snow cover.
Within a group activity we will also address the topic ofself-rescue on snow a fundamental practice for winter hiking that requires great harmony among the participants.
Plan
This is our proposed program, however the program can be customized according to your needs or requirements.
- 9:00 am: Meet at the Oriental Hotel
- Breakfast and a presentation from the Alpine Guides of the day
- Manager presentations
- 9:45 am: Travel by car towards Frasciscio
- 10:00 am: Preparation of equipment and the start of snowshoeing. Along the route, aspects of snow science will be given and an ARTVA (self-rescue in avalanche) camp will be prepared.
- 1:30 pm: Conclusion of snowshoeing followed by a lunch at the Genzianella restaurant
- 3:00 pm: Presentation by an Alpine Guide of prior expeditions including photos and videos that tell the story of the determination, planning, and harmony between climbing partners that a mountaineer must process every single day.
- 4:00 pm: Return home
